Alma College

This is just a short post on Alma College here in St. Thomas...Established "for the Higher Education of Young Women", Alma College was an important part of St. Thomas for more than 100 years. Young women from all over the world would come and study at this gorgeous school. It's been purchased by a family in London Ontario, there aim is to tear it down and build on the site...Heartbreaking...They actually want people to vandalize it, the more the better, it helps speed along the process of demolishing it..A few months ago, thankfully it was added to Heritage Canada's Foundation Top 10 list of endangered places in Canada. We are not out of the water yet. A majority of the citizens in town have started a petition and a full throttle movement to save this extraordinary building...
While I am new to the area, the building moves me as if I was a student myself. I'll post a site for the petition...
